Theatre exam tomorrow!

Being a 22 year-old college actor that’s obsessed with his director and being the perfect actor, even though he can’t act, sing, or dance at all.

Super duper excited.

Kinda disappointed in some of my fellow theatre friends.

Tomorrow for our midterm exam in my Honors Theatre Productions class we have to write three play reviews, 3 pages each with proper MLA formatting and heading. It’s really not hard at all, because we’ve also known about these review since school started. On top of that we were given an article of clothing, we have to create a character out of it, and write a three page character analysis over it. Then perform as that character for 5-7 minutes.

I’m totally fine with it, I mean it really isn’t that hard to write a play review and a character analysis. It’s a tad annoying they have to be three pages, but really it’s no big deal. The performance aspect sounds like a ton of fun and such so it’s actually a fun exam.

What’s upsetting me is that a few people in my class, (there are two Honors Theatre Productions classes and the one I’m in, 7th period is more focused towards college, so it’s a more intensive class than 6th period) are just like bullshitting this and are saying “Who else is gonna bullshit the hell out of this??” “Sooo gonna improv tomorrow’s exam” …well it’s kinda an improv exam anyway… I mean not really because we have a list things we each want to accomplish throughout our scene… BUT. It’s kinda like, do you really even care? That you want to bullshit your way through an HONORS theatre class? Bullshitting is fine, I’ve done it before, but if you’re really serious about something, why bullshit your way through it? I’m putting my all into this because I really care about it.

Okay. I’m done ranting. I just am disappointed my some of my theatre friends. I wish more of them cared…
